Summer Food Service Program

No child should go to bed hungry.

More than 60,000 Treasure Coast children currently qualify for free or reduced price meals through the National School Breakfast & Lunch Program. But when the school year ends, so do the school lunch programs that give most of them at least one meal a day. Poor and hungry, some children are so desperate they dive into dumpsters to search 'through the garbage for their next meal.

The solution - Summer Food Service Program

To fill the nutritional gap facing these children during the summer months, Treasure Coast Food Bank has teamed up with the Florida Department of Agriculture to facilitate the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) on the Treasure Coast and bring more meals to more kids this summer. The program targets children under age 18 by distributing nutritious, free meals in places where children live, work and play.

You can help - For just $3 a day you can provide food for one child- just $150 for the entire 10 weeks of summer vacation. Your gift will help children's  bodies stay healthy and their brains nourished throughout the summer, giving them a better chance for success in school and in life.

I hope you agree with us that no child should go to bed hungry. Please use this time to give a gift today and help feed a child this summer.

Thank you!

Our Mission The mission of the Treasure Coast Food Bank is to obtain and distribute food and needed products through partner agencies to help alleviate hunger in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties.
